Lima: Peru's national men's football team is scheduled to play against Russia and Chile in friendly matches this November, as announced by the president of the Peruvian football federation. Agustin Lozano revealed this information during a news conference, where he also introduced Jean Ferrari as Peru's new general director of football.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the friendly match against Russia is set to take place on November 12 in Saint Petersburg. This will be followed by a game against Chile in Sochi, scheduled six days later. These matches are part of Peru's efforts to prepare and strengthen their team for upcoming competitions.

Lozano also mentioned that the federation is close to confirming additional friendlies for FIFA's international window in October. This move signals the federation's intent to provide the team with ample preparation opportunities.

Currently, Peru finds itself in ninth place in the 10-team South American qualifiers for the World Cup, which will be held next year in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The team, known as the Blanquirroja, must win its last two qualifiers against Uruguay and Paraguay next month. Additionally, they will need a favorable combination of other results to have any chance of securing a playoff spot.
