According to Namibia Press Agency, the shutdown is expected to last approximately nine hours. GNS Construction Engineering, a contractor for a NamWater capital project in the area, requested the interruption.

'The purpose of the interruption is to connect the newly constructed pipeline to the main water supply system at Omafo,' NamWater spokesperson Lot Ndamanomhata said, adding that the connection is crucial for improving water supply services in the region.

Customers supplied by the Omafo-Eenhana pipeline are advised to store adequate water to cover their needs for the entire nine-hour period.

Ndamanomhata also noted that essential service institutions, such as hospitals, schools, clinics, and police stations that experience critical water supply challenges during the shutdown should contact NamWater directly for assistance.
