Windhoek: President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah announced that she will officially launch the sixth National Development Plan (NDP6) together with her three-month progress report in office on Monday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Nandi-Ndaitwah revealed this during a public address to civil servants in Windhoek on Friday. She explained that the sixth NDP is intended to uplift the living standards and expectations of the Namibian people, particularly focusing on the youth and women, who constitute the majority of the population.

The president highlighted the importance of empowering the majority, stating, "When you empower the majority, then they will be able to guide the minority, so that we are all brought to a standard where we can take care of ourselves."

Nandi-Ndaitwah emphasized that the three-month report will not only reflect the achievements of the Office of the President but also include input from public servants. She noted ongoing public concerns about whether civil servants are committed to collaborating with the president in serving the Namibian population.

"I will have the honour to officially launch the NDP6, where I will then inform the nation what you and I have achieved in the past three months. I emphasise me and you, because what I'm going to report is what we have done together, and the nation is going to judge all of us, not just Netumbo," she stated.

The president concluded by reiterating the responsibility of civil servants to empower the majority in order to address national challenges. "That is precisely why empowering the majority is the most effective solution to the challenges our nation faces, and it falls on us in public service to lead this change," she said.
