Windhoek: The Prime Minister of Namibia, Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, has urged executive directors in the public service to make employee wellness their primary concern. She made this appeal during an engagement session in Windhoek, where she met with all executive directors to provide them with directives to follow before their term concludes.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Kuugongelwa-Amadhila emphasized the importance of prioritizing employee wellbeing through various strategies, including fostering a vibrant organisational culture. She encouraged executive directors to focus on effective HR administration, integrate innovative and advanced HR technologies into all processes, and cultivate an agile organisational culture.
The Prime Minister highlighted the critical link between employee wellbeing and organizational success, noting that numerous studies have demonstrated a positive correlation between the two. She stressed the importance of investing in wellbeing initiatives to enhance business performance and achieve organisational goals.
Kuugongelwa-Amadhila also called on executive directors, management, and HR teams to be purposeful and intentional in inspiring ethical conduct, integrity, and good performance, while aligning with the national vision. She underscored the importance of efficient problem-solving, building, and maintaining strong collaborations to work towards common objectives.
Additionally, the Prime Minister addressed the need for timely evaluation and implementation of Cabinet Decisions, the role of public enterprises, concerns from the Auditor General's Report, strengthening collaborations, and accelerating recruitment processes within the public sector.
