Rehoboth: The Road Fund Administration (RFA) has donated 500 blankets worth N$200 000 to the Hardap Region to assist vulnerable residents during the winter season, following a request from the regional leadership.According to Namibia Press Agency, the donation was handed over by RFA's Corporate Services Manager, Ferdinand Molale, on behalf of RFA Chief Executive Officer Ali Ipinge in Rehoboth. Molale noted that the donation was not only prompted by a request from the Hardap Regional Council but also inspired by the humility and patience shown by Hardap Governor Riaan McNab during a visit to the RFA offices.Molale recounted an incident where the governor and his delegation were mistakenly seated in the wrong boardroom before being relocated to another venue, yet they remained understanding and courteous throughout."When our CEO heard what had happened, the first question he asked was whether the governor had reprimanded us. He was told that the governor remained patient and accommodating. He then remind ed us that we should always serve people with a warm and welcoming heart," Molale said.He added that upon reading the governor's request for assistance, the CEO instructed the team to respond generously, as the governor's personal visit underscored the seriousness of the appeal.Receiving the donation, Governor McNab described the contribution as a practical demonstration of compassion that would bring comfort to hundreds of vulnerable people across the region."I could only see the hand of God in all of this. Love is not only expressed through words. Giving someone a blanket is a physical demonstration of love, and that is exactly what the RFA has done for the people of this country," he said.McNab also commended the RFA leadership for its humility and warm reception during his visit to the organisation's headquarters in Windhoek. He remarked that the donation would "bring warmth and many smiles" to vulnerable households during the cold winter months. The governor further praised the unity of the Hard ap regional leadership, attributing their shared commitment to improving the lives of communities as a key factor in securing support from partners such as the RFA.The 500 blankets will be distributed to vulnerable residents across the Hardap Region as part of ongoing winter relief efforts. The first 100 blankets are scheduled to be distributed in Rehoboth on Saturday during the governor's winter drive.
