Scotland inflicted a second defeat on Namibia in the ongoing One Day International (ODI) Tri-Series in Scotland via a three wicket win on Thursday.

Scotland won the toss and sent Namibia to bat, and the Eagles put up a competitive score of 215 runs for seven runs in their allocated 50 overs.

Jan Frylinck top scored for Namibia with 60 runs from 48 balls, while captain Gerhard Erasmus scored 56 runs from 72 balls.

Openers Davin La Cock (23 runs) and Lo-handre Louwrens (13) started slowly, while number three Craig Williams could only manage a single run off 11 balls before being sent packing.

In reply, Scotland failed to put up any pressure on Namibia as the Eagles were comfortably cruising having reduced Scotland to136/7 with 13 overs remaining.

Poor bowling from Ben Shikongo saw Scotland’s innings rejuvenated as the Namibia bowler was hit for 19 runs in the 47th over.

Namibia’s Ruben Trumpelmann was the toast of the bowlers with impressive figures of two wickets for 41 runs in 9.5 overs (2/41) despite conceding 19 runs in one over, Shikongo also posted an impressive 2/33 statistic.

David Wiese and Bernard Scholtz both conceded 41 runs in overs without taking any wickets.
