Sifuha: The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Zambezi Region on Sunday opened inquest dockets after two brothers aged seven and eight years reportedly drowned in a pond at Sifuha village in the Kabbe North Constituency.
According to Namibia Press Agency, NamPol in a report availed to this agency, stated that the two kids went out to play with another 13-year-old Sunday around 15h00 at a pond of water along the Kalimbeza-Luhonono tarred road. 'The brothers drowned after they were unable to swim and the 13-year-old ran and alerted the elders at the village. They retrieved the two boys and then rushed them to Izize clinic where they were pronounced dead upon arrival,' states the report.
The deceased were identified as seven-year-old Chunga Wilson Ndopu and eight-year-old Mutakela Morris Ndopu. Their bodies were transported to the Katima Mulilo District Hospital mortuary, and autopsies will be conducted. The next of kin are informed and investigations into the incident continue.
