South Africa and Uganda continue with impressive performances

Two of the best ranked netball teams in Africa, South Africa and Uganda continued with their impressive performances at the African Netball Cup currently underway in Windhoek.

South Africa who are ranked fifth and Uganda ranked seventh in the world, have been the dominant outfits at the competition, winning all their matches since the championship started last Tuesday.

The two top tiers are level on 12 points after six matches, but South Africa are top of the log on goal difference.

On Sunday at the Wanderers Indoor Sport Field, South Africa once again showed their dominance, walking all over Zambia with a 76-33 score line.

While Uganda on the other side beat Kenya 73-40 to remain second on goal difference on the log standing.

With both nations level on 12 points after six fixtures, their game at 13h00 on Monday (15 November) will decide who leads with two points and no longer goal difference.

In other games that were played on Sunday, host nation Namibia lost 44-53 to Malawi while Zimbabwe beat Botswana 47-44.

Meanwhile Kenya registered their second win at the competition after beating Tanzania 48-40.

After day six of the championship, South Africa are top of the log with 12 points followed by Uganda who are level on 12 points with them. Malawi are third with 10 points and Zimbabwe fourth on eight points, while Namibia are fifth on six points.

Sixth spot is occupied by Zambia with four points and Kenya are seventh level on four points with Zambia, while Tanzania and Botswana are eight and ninth respectively with zero points.
