Swapo activist arrested for alleged assault of wife at Nkurenkuru

A prominent Swapo activist, whose age is unknown was arrested on Friday at Nkurenkuru in the Kavango West Region for allegedly assaulting his wife.

According to the Namibian Police Force weekend crime report on Sunday, the incident took place last week Tuesday.

The man, known as ‘Kafu Ka Namibia’ is currently detained at the Kahenge Police Station pending his court appearance in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Monday, it said.

In an unrelated incident, the body of a 40-year-old man was found with a stab wound on the chest between the old Musika market and Engen service station at Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi Region.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was in the company of his nephew and girlfriend when they were reportedly attacked by six men with knives on their way from a NedBank ATM machine to Makaravani West residential area at around 02h00,” it read.

Two men were arrested in connection with the alleged murder and the deceased was identified as Mokaxwa Nghidinishali Ndinomolo. His next of kin has been informed.
