Windhoek: The Electoral Commission of Namibia announced the final results of the 2025 Regional Council Election for the Kalahari Constituency in the Omaheke Region on Friday. The Swapo Party's candidate, Zedekia Borry Katjiuanjo, emerged victorious with a total of 1,421 votes.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the Swapo Party's win was followed by the Independent Candidate Ludwig Narib, who secured 533 votes. The Popular Democratic Movement's Elenterius Baumakwe garnered 73 votes, while Bianca Lauretta Dax from the Landless People's Movement obtained 295 votes. Ruben Seitisho from the Independent Patriots for Change received 49 votes, and another Independent Candidate, Elvire Louise Theron, collected 228 votes.
A total of 2,599 votes were cast in the election, with 55 ballots being rejected. The results reflect the voting preferences within the Kalahari Constituency as the region continues to shape its political landscape.
