Oniipa: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped at Oniipa in the Oshikoto Region on Saturday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Namibian Police Force reported in the weekend crime report that the incident took place at Okalevona location. The girl was reportedly pinned down in the street and raped by an unknown male. The assailant allegedly entered the girl's room with the intention of stealing her cellphone but was unsuccessful.

The report further elaborates that the girl resisted the robbery attempt, prompting the suspect to call two other men for assistance. They reportedly covered her mouth with a cloth before carrying her into the street, where the initial suspect who attempted the robbery, subsequently raped her.

Currently, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and police investigations are ongoing.
