Otjiwarongo: The Otjiwarongo Constituency's Under-20 football trials are scheduled to take place at the Mokati Sports Stadium in Otjiwarongo on Saturday. The trials aim to identify 20 young men for a dedicated constituency squad.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Jeaneth Kaundje, a sports officer with the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, stated that the selected team will be prepared to participate in the regional football trials in Grootfontein on 27 February 2026. The Grootfontein trials will be the final selection stage for the Otjozondjupa regional team, which will represent the region at the 2026 The Namibian Newspaper Cup tournament in Keetmanshoop.

To qualify for the trials, players must be born on or after 01 January 2007. The trials are set to run throughout Saturday, starting at 08h00 and ending at 19h00. Kaundje urged parents to accompany their sons or permit them to attend the trials at Mokati Sports Stadium.

Kaundje also announced that the Otjiwarongo Under-20 netball team trials are planned for 07 February 2026 at the same venue. The aim is to select 15 girls to represent the constituency at the regional netball tournament in Grootfontein on 27 February.
