Keetmanshoop: A 48-year-old male suspect was arrested in Keetmanshoop on Friday after he was allegedly found in possession of 10 mandrax tablets. A weekend crime report by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on Sunday indicated that the arrest took place in the Tseiblaagte residential area.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the value of the mandrax is N.dollars 1 200, and the suspect is expected to appear before the Keetmanshoop Magistrate's Court on Monday.
In a separate incident, a 34-year-old male suspect was arrested at the Keetmanshoop Police Station after he allegedly tried to smuggle 13 small bags of cannabis into the police cells. The incident occurred at 15h30 when the male suspect 'brought food and two litres of Omaere milk. However, upon inspection in the presence of the suspect, police found 13 small bags of cannabis weighing 21 grams, valued at N. dollars 1 050, and seized it.'
The suspect is charged and will appear before the court on Monday. Police investigations continue.
