Two Die, Four Injured in Rehoboth Road Crash

Accra: Two people died, and four others sustained serious injuries in a road accident on the B1 highway south of Rehoboth on Sunday morning.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Namibian Police Force's weekend serious crime and incident report, issued by Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, detailed that the accident occurred around 06h00 approximately three kilometres south of Rehoboth.

'It is alleged that the driver of a silver Volkswagen Golf sedan was travelling from south to north when he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a sharp curve. The vehicle overturned and landed on its roof.'

The driver, identified as 33-year-old Brandley Besser, and a passenger, 17-year-old Christiano de Groot, both males, died at the scene. Four other passengers, aged between 15 and 18 years, sustained serious injuries and were transported to St Mary's Hospital in Rehoboth for medical treatment. Their conditions were reported to be stable. The next of kin of the deceased are informed and police investigations into the incident continue.
