Zambezi: One of the Zambezi Region's oldest football clubs, Power Dynamos FC, has clinched the Namport Zambezi Third Division title for the 2025/26 season.According to Namibia Press Agency, the club achieved victory with 41 points from the league's 18 games, scoring 43 goals. While unofficially crowned champions, the final league games are set for this weekend between Zambezi United FC and Sahara FC, both significantly trailing behind the log leaders, Power Dynamos."As it stands now based on the information from the log-standing, Power Dynamos and Eleven Bullets have secured an automatic promotion from the third division to the second division. However, all formal pronouncements have to be made by the Namibia Football Association (NFA)'s executive council," stated Zambezi Regional Football Association chairperson, Ngwama Vuyalo, on Saturday.Vuyalo further clarified that promotional play-offs are anticipated in the upcoming weeks, with regional second division league champions expected to be promoted to the first division. "If Bush Bucks (winners of the second division league) succeed then we will have three clubs that will have to be promoted from the third division to the second division because two other bottom-placed clubs have to be relegated. That will place third-placed Young Stars in a better position to be promoted, but their promotion will be determined by Bush Bucks' performance in the promotional play-offs," Vuyalo explained.Young Stars, with 36 points and 45 goals from 18 games, have a chance for promotion. In contrast, Mashi Pirates and Imore FC face relegation from the third division, alongside Green Eagles and Real Cheetahs from the second division.Considering these developments, Vuyalo has invited regional clubs to register for membership with the regional football association to join the third division. "Clubs must apply for membership to be added to the third division where there's a shortage. We need 12 clubs but there are currently only nine after the withdrawal of other clubs," Vuya lo said.
