Okondjatu: Two men were arrested at Okondjatu settlement in the Okakarara Constituency on Sunday after they were allegedly found in possession of 34 parcels of skunk cannabis.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Otjozondjupa Region Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Edna Nawa, stated in an interview on Monday that the two suspects are aged 18 and 23 years, and are residents of Okatoto village at the settlement. "We arrested them at Okatoto village after the police suspected them of dealing in drugs and launched a search," said Nawa.
The police were still working on determining the exact weight and value of the drugs on Monday. The two suspects are expected to appear in the Okakarara Magistrate's Court this week. Police investigations into the source of the cannabis are ongoing, Nawa added.
