Uncle allegedly rapes two-year-old at Oniimwandi village

A two-year-old female toddler from Oniimwandi village in the Onayena constituency of the Oshikoto region was reportedly raped by her 21-year-old uncle last week Tuesday.

A weekend crime report by the Head of the Namibian Police Force’s Public Relations Division, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi on Sunday said it is alleged that the suspect had sexual intercourse with the at about 12h00.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court, while police investigations continue.

In a similar incident, a four-year-old girl from Kakoro village in the Kavango West region was allegedly raped by her uncle on Friday.

The report said the suspect allegedly picked up the victim and took her into his hut before forcefully having sexual intercourse with her at an unknown time until the next morning.

“The suspect was arrested the next day after he evaded arrest on the first day. Police are investigating the incident further,” it said.

Meanwhile, a 16-year-old girl from Katongo village in the Zambezi region was allegedly raped on Thursday by an unknown man while on her way from afternoon studies.

The suspect reportedly followed the victim to her hut and forcefully gained entrance before forcefully having sexual intercourse with her, without consent.

The suspect is yet to be arrested and police Investigation continues.

In another incident, a 14-year-old female from Mariental in the Hardap region was allegedly raped by a man age unknown on 19 September 2022 at an unknown time.

The report said the suspect was sharing a bed with the victim due to a limited sleeping place before having forceful sexual intercourse without her consent.

“The suspect fled to Windhoek and is known to be arrested immediately. Police investigations continue,” it noted.
