Windhoek: A 39-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by her boyfriend at Havana Ongos in Wanaheda on Friday afternoon. Namibian Police Force (NamPol) spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi on Sunday in a weekend crime report said the incident happened around 13h00, following a history of domestic abuse.According to Namibia Press Agency, Shikwambi stated, "It is alleged that an adult Namibian male suspect shot and killed his 39-year-old girlfriend with a pistol following a history of domestic abuse." The victim died at the scene, while the suspect remains in police custody.Shikwambi also reported that a 50-year-old man died on the spot after he was allegedly shot during a fatal shootout with another man at Soweto Market on Saturday night, around 23h30. The motive for the shootout remains unknown. The deceased's next of kin have been informed, and the suspect has since been arrested.In a separate incident, a 28-year-old man allegedly died after being stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle dur ing an argument at Gochas in the Hardap region. The incident occurred at 00h20 on Sunday when the argument escalated into a physical confrontation. The victim's next of kin have been informed, and the suspect has since been arrested.Police are investigating an attempted murder in Windhoek West after an intoxicated driver allegedly shot a 45-year-old Namibian man in the neck on Friday around 23h00. The suspect refused to undergo an alcohol test and started an argument, leading to the shooting. "The victim is receiving medical treatment, while the suspect remains in custody on charges that include attempted murder and obstructing the police in the execution of their duties," Shikwambi said.Furthermore, another attempted murder was reported in Otjomuise, where a 37-year-old man sustained severe injuries after allegedly being stabbed with a broken bottle on Saturday, between 00h00 and 01h00. The motive of the stabbing is unknown, and no arrest has been made. Police investigations in all matters continue.
