Oshikoto: A 33-year-old woman has been arrested after she allegedly stabbed an elderly man to death at Omutsegwondjamba village in the Oshikoto Region. Crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Titus Ekandjo, informed that the incident occurred around 21h00 on Friday at a cuca shop. The deceased has been identified as Leevi Iitope.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the suspect was busy working in the cuca shop when the deceased intervened while she was talking to someone else and started an argument with her over incorrect change she had allegedly given to a customer. Ekandjo stated that the man allegedly slapped the woman, who is six months pregnant, twice. He then reportedly pushed her onto the ground several times and sat on her stomach.
During the scuffle, the suspect allegedly grabbed a knife from the counter and stabbed her attacker once in the neck. The man died on the spot, Ekandjo reported. The suspect has been arrested, and the remains of the deceased were taken to the Omuthiya police mortuary.
