Grootfontein: The body of a 28-year-old woman was on Saturday morning discovered at the Grootfontein dumpsite with evidence of rape and strangulation. Namibian Police Force head of community affairs in the Otjozondjupa Region, Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, on Saturday said the victim was identified by her close relatives as Selly Gamgaes.According to Namibia Press Agency, her body was found at about 07h00 at the Kaap en Bou informal area's dumpsite at the town. Preliminary police investigations indicate that Gamgaes was last seen Friday night, said Mbeha.'The deceased's body was found half-naked with strangulation marks on the neck. It was also established that she was raped,' said Mbeha. No arrest has been made in connection with the matter. Police investigations continue.
