Santiago: Three people were killed and another was injured after two motorcycles collided in Rizal province, east of Manila, past midnight on Saturday, the police said. The crash occurred on the national road of Morong town when one motorcycle entered the opposite lane to overtake a vehicle, resulting in a head-on collision with an oncoming motorcycle.
According to Namibia Press Agency, each motorcycle carried a driver and a passenger. The incident claimed the lives of the driver and the passenger of one motorcycle, both males aged 20 and 22, as well as an 18-year-old male passenger from the other motorcycle. The driver of the second motorcycle sustained injuries.
The police did not provide information on whether the four motorcyclists were wearing protective helmets during the crash, although helmet use is mandated by Philippine law.
