Kabul: Afghan interim government's Acting Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, left Kabul for Uzbekistan, aiming to enhance bilateral relations in various sectors, the office of the acting deputy prime minister for economic affairs said in a statement on Saturday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, leading a high-ranking delegation, Baradar is set to meet Uzbek officials to discuss issues in an effort to enhance political, economic, trade, and transit relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, the statement clarified.
During the two-day visit, the delegation seeks to capture the attention of Uzbek investors to encourage investment in Afghanistan, it said.
Since taking control in August 2021, the leaders of the Afghan interim government have been actively working to enhance diplomatic relations with various countries, yet they have not gained recognition from any country to date.
