Windhoek: Four people have died and two more have been hospitalized after two cars collided in a remote part of northern Australia: Four people have died and two more have been hospitalized after two cars collided in a remote part of northern Australia.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the police service in Australia's northeastern state of Queensland stated on Sunday that the two vehicles collided on a highway between the historical coal mining towns of Comet and Blackwater. This location is approximately 615 kilometers northwest of Brisbane in the Central Highlands region. The accident occurred at about 10:50 a.m. local time on Sunday.

Four individuals succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while two others were transported to a hospital with serious injuries. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reported that both vehicles caught fire upon collision. The two individuals taken to the hospital are both men in their 20s.
