Windhoek: Bank Windhoek on Tuesday announced the appointment of Leon Koch as its Executive Officer for Retail Banking Services, with effect from 01 July 2026. Koch will oversee one of its key customer-facing divisions, which includes all Bank Windhoek branches and agencies, as well as its Vehicle and Asset Finance and Property Finance businesses.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Bank Windhoek Managing Director (MD) James Chapman, in a media statement, said Koch's appointment reinforces the bank's commitment to improving the customer experience and delivering relationship-driven banking solutions. 'Leon Koch brings deep market knowledge, proven executive experience and a clear understanding of what customers expect from a proudly Namibian bank. His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to enhance customer experience, grow trusted relationships and deliver solutions that support the financial aspirations of our customers,' he said.

According to the MD, Koch joined Bank Windhoek in 2017 and has held several executive positions, including Executive Officer for Capricorn Private Wealth, Commercial and Bancassurance, and most recently Business Banking. He has also served in acting capacities for Retail Banking Services and Capricorn Private Wealth.

'His background in academic and professional development further underscores the depth of his experience in the role. Koch holds a Master of Science in International Banking and Finance from the University of Salford, Manchester, completed through Salford Business School in Zurich,' Chapman said. He added that Koch has more than 35 years of experience in the banking and insurance sectors, with expertise spanning personal, commercial and branch banking, as well as senior leadership roles in Namibia and elsewhere in Africa.
