Bank Windhoek Employees Secure 6% Pay Increase

Nairobi:Bank Windhoek employees in the bargaining unit will see a 6% salary increase, along with a 20% boost to their transport allowance, following successful negotiations with the Namibian Financial Institutions Union (NAFINU).

According to NAMPA, the bank made this announcement in a media statement on Thursday, highlighting that negotiations concluded on Wednesday. The agreed adjustments will take effect from September 1, 2026, and will last until August 31, 2027.

Bank Windhoek's Managing Director, James Chapman, emphasized that the agreement was the result of focused and constructive discussions between the bank and NAFINU. He stated that the agreement underscores the bank's commitment to recognizing employee contributions, rewarding performance, and supporting the financial well-being of its workforce.

Chapman also noted the importance of having engaged, capable, and committed employees for the bank's ability to deliver value to customers and communities. He highlighted that fair and consistent employee rewards are crucial for maintaining a high-performance culture and strengthening the bank's long-term resilience.
