Bank Windhoek scoops Best FX Bank in Namibia award

Bank Windhoek has been named the Best Foreign Exchange (FX) Bank in Namibia by Global Finance, a leading international financial portal and print magazine based in London.

Banking, trading, technology, tax and legal, and asset and wealth management are all examples of global finance.

The announcement was made in New York City, where Global Finance magazine named the World’s Best Foreign Exchange Banks for the 23rd year as part of the Gordon W Platt Foreign Exchange Awards.

Winners were selected from 88 countries and territories, seven regions, and a variety of global categories.

Winning organisations will be recognised at an Awards Reception at Glaziers Hall in London on Wednesday, 22 February 2023.

In a media statement issued on Monday, Bank Windhoek Chief Treasurer, Claire Hobbs stated that the criteria for selecting the Foreign Exchange Banks Award winners included transaction volume, market share, the scope of global coverage, customer service, competitive pricing, and innovative technologies.

Global Finance also took into account bank submissions as well as feedback from industry analysts, corporate executives, and technology specialists.

“As we celebrate our 40th Anniversary, this award has come at the right time because this is a collective achievement. It is a testament to the hard work, resilience and dedication of the Treasury Team, the Bank Windhoek staff and customers,” she said.

Global Finance, which was founded in 1987, has a circulation of 50 000 printed copies and readers in 193 countries and territories, with an audience of senior corporate and financial officers who make investment and strategic decisions at multinational corporations and financial institutions.

Global Finance is headquartered in New York and has offices all over the world.

Aside from the Global Finance Award, Bank Windhoek was named the Best Financial Services brand in Namibia by Brand Africa in 2022.
