Belarus Foreign Debt Decreases by 1.6 Billion USD in 2024

Minsk: Belarusian foreign debt has diminished by 1.6 billion U.S. dollars over the course of 2024, as reported by local media on Friday. The country’s gross foreign debt fell from 36.8 billion U.S. dollars on January 1, 2024, to 35.2 billion U.S. dollars by January 1, 2025, based on the official statistics released by the nation’s central bank.



According to Namibia Press Agency, the reduction in foreign debt also influenced the external debt per capita, which decreased from 4,000 to 3,800 U.S. dollars. Additionally, the debt-to-GDP ratio saw a decline from 50.9 percent at the start of 2024 to 46.3 percent by the beginning of 2025.
