Vientiane: The "New Perspective: China-Laos Young Artists Exchange Exhibition" has opened in the Lao capital with over 100 guests from the cultural and tourism sectors of both countries attending the opening ceremony.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the event is co-organized by the China Cultural Center in Laos and the China Center of International Cultural Exchange and Tourism Promotion. The exhibition features 48 artworks by emerging Chinese and Lao artists, including 13 new pieces by Chinese artists inspired by their travels in Laos, along with six standout works by Lao artists.
The exhibition reflects Chinese artists' appreciation of Lao culture while providing a platform for Lao artists to share their stories with Chinese audiences. Khamsouk Keovongxay, director general of the Lao National Institute of Fine Arts, praised the exhibition during the opening ceremony for its role in strengthening cultural ties under the Belt and Road Initiative and fostering deeper mutual understanding between artists from both nations.
During the event, Chinese artists presented two symbolic paintings to Lao representatives, including "Kuang si After the Rain," which captures the serene beauty of Kuang si Waterfall, and "Journey of the Snake and Elephant," representing cultural harmony between the two countries. The exhibition will run through August 15.
