Beijing: Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.12 percent to 3,597.94 points. The Shenzhen Component Index also saw gains, closing 0.44 percent higher at 11,217.58 points.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the combined turnover of these two indices stood at about 1.74 trillion yuan (approximately 2.43 billion U.S. dollars), which marked a decrease from 1.79 trillion yuan recorded in the previous trading session. Stocks linked to copper clad laminate and printed circuit boards led the gains, whereas those associated with coal and antimony registered significant losses.
The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, experienced a 0.96 percent increase, closing at 2,362.6 points.
