Chinese Stocks End Monday on a Mixed Note

Macao: Chinese stocks displayed a mixed performance on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slightly declining by 0.12 percent to close at 3,316.93 points, while the Shenzhen Component Index experienced a modest rise of 0.36 percent, finishing at 10,649.59 points.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the combined turnover of the Shanghai Composite and Shenzhen Component indices was approximately 1.62 trillion yuan, equivalent to 225.8 billion U.S. dollars. This represents a decrease from the 1.91 trillion yuan recorded in the previous trading session.

The market saw a varied performance across sectors, with stocks related to solid-state batteries and beauty care achieving gains. In contrast, sectors such as computing power and Chinese liquor experienced notable losses. The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's growth enterprises akin to Nasdaq, reported a gain of 1.2 percent, closing at 2,196.52 points.
