Cricket Namibia receives sponsorship ahead of UAE tour

The Namibia Cricket Union on Tuesday received sponsorships from Diagnolab and Living Waters Pharmacy as part of the two companies’ corporate social responsibility.

Namibia’s senior men’s cricket team will compete in the 2022 United Arab Emirates (UAE) Tri-Nation Series that will be held from 04 to 14 March. Three countries – host UAE, Namibia and Oman – will take part in the competition.

Diagnolab announced that they will do all Cricket Namibia’s medical tests for free for the next two years, while Living Waters Pharmacy will be supplying them with pharmaceutical care for a year.

Cricket Namibia Chief Executive Officer, Johan Muller said this is the first time a pharmaceutical company is joining hands with them.

“The safety of the players is very important. We are proud to have partnered with a pharmaceutical company because during our tours we will need medical care and their supply will come in handy,” he said.

He added that going into partnership with Diagnolab came at the right time as players and officials will need to be tested ahead of their tours or when hosting competitions at home.

Diagnolab Managing Director Hambeleleni Matsi said they are excited to have teamed up with Cricket Namibia because they want to help in realising the dreams of the sport of cricket in Namibia.

“It is often said that teamwork makes the dream work. As an entrepreneur, I strongly agree with this sentiment. As a growing company, we believe in practical and indeed active corporate social responsibility active support. For this reason, we are honoured to contribute to the efforts and success of this sport, which continues to fly our national flag high, and puts the name of our beautiful country on the map of cricket playing nations,” she said.

Victoria Shigwedha, a pharmacist at Living Waters Pharmacy, said they went into partnership with Cricket Namibia because they believe in their dream.
