Female Chinese Astronaut Sends International Women’s Day Greetings from Space

Beijing: Wang Haoze, China's first female space engineer to work in the country's space station, extended her greetings to women and girls in a video released by the China Manned Space Agency to mark International Women's Day on March 8. In her message, Wang conveyed her hope for women and girls to embrace their strength and potential, encouraging them to "become the bright moon, as well as the twinkling stars" and to "grow up in the radiant and enchanting spring."

According to Namibia Press Agency, Wang is the third Chinese woman to participate in a crewed spaceflight mission. She is currently aboard the orbiting Tiangong space station, where she recorded her message. Her mission began on October 30, 2024, when she, along with fellow astronauts Cai Xuzhe and Song Lingdong, embarked on a six-month crewed spaceflight mission as part of the Shenzhou-19 crew.
