Windhoek: Excitement continues to build in Gobabis as preparations for the Miss Teen Namibia and Miss Namibia 2026 crowning ceremonies enter their final stages, with the town buzzing with activity ahead of the prestigious national events. The Miss Teen crowning is set for Friday night while Miss Namibia is set for Saturday at Die Dam Resort in Gobabis.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Beaulah Boois-Beukes, Miss Namibia's national director, mentioned in an interview with Nampa on Friday that the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) production team has officially arrived and taken over Gobabis, transforming the venue into a world-class broadcast destination. "The main event tent has been erected, while stage construction and technical installations were set up to ensure audiences both at the venue and across the country enjoy a spectacular production," she said.
Behind the scenes, Boois-Beukes stated that the finalists were hard at work, participating in intensive rehearsals as they prepared for the crowning ceremonies. She noted that the Miss Teen Namibia finalists were balancing rehearsals with their academic commitments, writing their examinations in between scheduled activities. "This has been made possible through the support and collaboration of the Office of the Omaheke Region Governor and the Omaheke Region Teachers Resource Centre (TRC), marking a historic first for the pageant," she said.
Boois-Beukes added that for the first time in Miss Teen Namibia history, examinations have been prioritized, ensuring contestants are able to pursue academic excellence while competing for the national title, a milestone that reflects the organisation's commitment to empowering young women through both education and leadership. "With Gobabis embracing its role as host, all roads now lead to an unforgettable Miss Teen Namibia and Miss Namibia 2026 experience," she said.
The preparations were boosted by donations from various community members of Omaheke, with individual farmers and traditional authorities pledging their contributions to the much-anticipated event.
