Windhoek: Some international exhibitors shared mixed reactions about the first day of the 71st edition of the Windhoek Agricultural and Livestock Show, which commenced on Tuesday. Founder of MaDoo Trading CC from South Korea, Madina Dyussebayeva, a first-time exhibitor in various South Korean skin care products, told Nampa that she hopes to see more visitors in the coming days as the show offers vital exposure.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Dyussebayeva mentioned that the visibility from her stand was limited but remained optimistic about the event's potential. Meanwhile, Tinashe Manyonga, founder of Temp-Bag Outdoor Living Products from Zimbabwe, expressed that the platform provides his business with necessary connections and a chance to showcase its offerings. Having been a participant last year, Manyonga noted that returning to the show is significant for his company, which creates products like thermal bags from waste, and highlighted the positive reception from previous clients.

Dorcas Kasaira, a marketing executive of Hi-bred Chicks, a Zimbabwean company supplying broiler and layer chicks to farmers, shared her satisfaction with the event's organisation. Kasaira, who aims to expand operations to Namibia soon, appreciated the preparedness of exhibitors and the overall setup of the show.

In an interview with Nampa on Monday, Harald Schmidt, Executive Vice-President of the Windhoek Show Society, stated that at least 50,000 visitors are expected at this year's five-day event. He explained the reduction in show days from nine to five, citing feedback from exhibitors, particularly private ones, who found it challenging to maintain operations for such an extended period. The event, running until Saturday, features over 200 exhibitors from Namibia and abroad.
