Paralympic sprinter Lahja Ishitile and her guide , Sem Shimanda , have qualified for the semi - finals of the women ' s T11 100 - metre ( m ) race at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games , currently underway in Paris , France . Ishitile , who secured a gold medal in the 400m on Saturday , finished second in heat one with an African record time of 12 . 12 seconds , the fastest time in her heat and the second - fastest across all four heats on the day . Brazil ' s Lorena Spoladore Silva and her guide , Renato Ben Hur Oliveira Costa , won heat one with a season ' s best time of 12 . 11 seconds . The semi - finals of the T11 100m will take place at 19h20 on Monday at the Stade de France . In an interview with Nampa on Monday , Namibia Paralympic Committee Secretary General , Michael Hamukwaya , expressed pride in Ishitile ' s performance . ' This is Lahja ' s third Paralympic Games , and I am pleased to see that she has gained experience which she is now using to her advantage . With this performance , she can still win more silverware for herself and the country . As a movement , we are always happy to see our athletes giving their all against the world ' s best ,' Hamukwaya said . The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games are being held from 28 August to 08 September 2024 .
