Oshana: A 32-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in front of his sister at Onamavo village in the Oshana Region. The Namibian Police Force's crime investigations coordinator for Oshana, Deputy Commissioner Frederick Ndjadila, said the incident occurred around 16h00 last Thursday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the deceased was identified as Silas Erasmus. Ndjadila stated that Erasmus allegedly shot himself in the mouth with a shotgun in the presence of his sister. The firearm supposedly belongs to a neighbor, although it remains unclear how Erasmus accessed it.

Ndjadila noted that investigations are ongoing to determine the ownership of the gun and the circumstances under which it was acquired. Currently, no foul play is suspected in the incident.
