A 58-year-old man allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Usakos Street, Havana, Windhoek on Saturday.
A weekend crime report issued by the Namibian Police Force indicated that the lifeless body of Martin Waendama Shipo was discovered lying on the bed in his bedroom, with a pistol in his right hand, around 16h42 on Saturday.
According to the report, the deceased was discovered by his girlfriend who came home and found that the door of the house was locked from the inside.
‘She made several phone calls to the boyfriend’s phone that went unanswered, which then prompted her to report the matter at a mobile police station in Havana. Police officers broke the padlock of the door and gained entry into the house,’ stated the report.
The body has been transported to the police mortuary while investigations continue.
