Tsumkwe:A 28-year-old man was found dead in his home at Tsumkwe settlement following an argument with his girlfriend on Friday night.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the deceased, identified as Mathew Tomas of Makalani location, allegedly hanged himself with a rope shortly after the disagreement.

Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, head of community affairs for the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, reported that Tomas' girlfriend went to sleep after their argument. Around 11 p.m., their son discovered Tomas hanging and informed his mother.

The girlfriend subsequently notified the police about the incident. Tomas' body was then transported to the Tsumkwe Police Station mortuary.

Authorities are currently investigating the nature of the couple's argument, and an inquest docket has been opened at the Tsumkwe Police Station as investigations continue.
