Windhoek: Namibia's Alex Miller and South Africa's Kelsey Jade van Schoor were crowned overall champions of the 2026 Pupkewitz Megabuild Tour de Windhoek on Sunday. The five-stage road race, held from 13 to 16 August, featured Namibia's leading cyclists and top riders from neighboring countries.According to Namibia Press Agency, Miller, representing King Price Racing, set the stage for his win with a strong performance in the first stage, establishing a lead of over one minute and 20 seconds. He extended his advantage during the Dordabis route in stage two and maintained his lead in the subsequent stages to clinch the overall title.The second position was secured by Theuns van der Westhuizen from Hollard Elite, while Miller's teammate, Ernest Arnold Roets, finished third. Miller also won the polka-dot jersey as the Top Climber and the green jersey for Best Sprinter.In the elite women's category, Team Pirtek Hollard excelled with Van Schoor delivering notable performances in stages two and three. Her eff orts earned her a lead of over 30 seconds, securing the yellow jersey and the overall win. Her teammate Anri Greef finished second, closely competing in stages two and three, while Lize-Ann Louw of Tshenolo Women Pro Cycling Team, who won the individual time trial, claimed third place.Junior rider Van der Westhuizen also won the Under-23 men's title, complementing his third-place finish in the elite men's category. Roets placed second in the Under-23 category, with Christiaan van der Westhuizen of Hollard Elite taking third.Miller expressed his happiness at winning the Tour de Windhoek, emphasizing the importance of teamwork. 'It feels super good to be here and to take the yellow, as well as the polka-dot and green jerseys. The jerseys belong to my team as much as they do to me,' he stated.Van Schoor, securing her second Tour de Windhoek title, shared her satisfaction with the victory. 'Today's stage was hard to win, but our team performed very well. Winning this title means a lot, and I am always happy to come and compete in the Tour de Windhoek,' she commented.
