Oshamakaka: A 10-year-old boy died on Friday after a truck drove over him at Oshamakaka village in the Oshikoto Region. The incident was confirmed in the weekend crime report by Namibian Police Force spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi.
According to Namibia Press Agency, it is alleged that a 46-year-old man was driving a truck while conducting work related to the construction of electricity wiring in the village. 'While reversing the vehicle, the driver reportedly drove over the minor who was sleeping under a tree. The boy died on the spot,' Shikwambi stated. The boy's next of kin were informed and police investigations continue.
In a separate incident on Saturday, a 30-year-old man was stabbed to death at an entertainment venue in the Nomtsoub location of Tsumeb. The victim sustained a single stab wound to his right shoulder from an unknown sharp object and was declared dead upon arrival at Tsumeb Hospital. 'It is alleged that a quarrel erupted between the deceased and a group of suspects at a lounge that turned into a fight that led to the stabbing,' Shikwambi said. The deceased's next of kin have been informed. The suspect has not yet been arrested, and police investigations are ongoing.
Also on Saturday in Tsumeb, at the Kuvukiland location in Nomtsoub, a 25-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing a 28-year-old female victim three times in the chest with a kitchen knife. The victim sustained serious injuries. 'It is alleged that the suspect went to her boyfriend's room and found him with the victim,' Shikwambi explained. The suspect has been arrested, and police investigations continue.
