Otjiwarongo: The Namibia Press Agency (Nampa) Board of Directors has expressed satisfaction with the financial stability and general performance of the company.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the chairperson, Ndeuhala Katonyala-Lewis, made this announcement during the company's 2025 annual integrated strategic business plan review meeting underway at Otjiwarongo. The meeting aims to review the agency's integrated strategic business plan, which spans from 2024 to 2028. Katonyala-Lewis emphasized that the meeting, also attended by the company's managers, will assess the strategic business plan document used by the board to evaluate and determine the company's performance in alignment with its core mandate and values.

Katonyala-Lewis noted that the company is currently on track with its financial sustainability plan, both short and long-term, and also in terms of staffing necessary to effectively tell the Namibian story. She assured that despite the upcoming conclusion of Nampa's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Linus Chata's tenure on 30 June 2025, the company's business activities would proceed without disruption.

She further mentioned that Chata's five-year contract concludes next Monday, and an acting CEO will be appointed to handle the company's daily administrative duties. Katonyala-Lewis also highlighted that the three-year term of the entire Nampa board will end on 31 July 2025. It will be the responsibility of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology to either re-appoint the current board or appoint a new board of directors.

The current board comprises Katonyala-Lewis as chairperson, Kingsley Guiseb as deputy chairperson, and board members Elias Mwenyo, Kaulikalelwa Nghishitende, and Bertha Amakali. The meeting is scheduled to conclude on Friday.
