NamPol Investigates N. Dollars 1 Million Robbery at Okahao

Okahao: The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Omusati Region is investigating an armed robbery in which suspects allegedly held a man at gunpoint and stole cash, valuables, and a vehicle worth more than N.dollars 1 million in Okahao Tuesday night.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Omusati Regional Police Commander Commissioner Ismael Basson stated that the suspects allegedly confronted the victim, 42-year-old Riyaz Jaffer Virran, manager of the Rani Group's Okahao branch. They threatened him with a pistol and demanded money and the shop keys.

The suspects allegedly stole a white Toyota Fortuner GD6 valued at N.dollars 1 million, an Apple Watch, a Gucci leather bag, N.dollars 1,900 in cash, a Redmi smartphone, a gold necklace, earpods, and other personal belongings. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at N.dollars 1,076,900.

Basson reported that the stolen vehicle was later recovered after being intercepted at Omungwelume in the Ohangwena Region. No arrests have been made, and police investigations are ongoing.
