NamPol seize drugs worth N.dollars 10 million in October

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) seized illicit drugs with a street value of over N.dollars 10 million countrywide during the month of October.

In a statement to the media, NamPol spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikambi said cannabis accounted for most of the drugs as police seized 1 051 545 kilogrammes valued at N.dollars 10 515 450.

“About 317 Mandrax tablets were seized valued at N.dollars 38 040, five grams of cocaine powder valued at N.dollars 2 500, while 43 units of crack cocaine and 400 grams of mushrooms valued at N.dollars 4 300 and N.dollars 72 000 respectively were also seized.”

A total number of 124 suspects were arrested in connection with the drugs of which 100 are Namibians, eight Angolans, one Congolese, three Tanzanians, one Ghanaian, nine Zambians and two Zimbabwean nationals.
