Omaheke Governor Engages in Community Outreach to Address Local Challenges

Omaheke: The Governor of the Omaheke Region, Pijoo Nganate, started a series of community outreach meetings this week to identify local challenges and collaborate with residents on solutions. Nganate told Nampa in an interview on Tuesday the meetings are designed to foster direct engagement with traditional leaders, line ministries, and community members.



According to Namibia Press Agency, the meetings will be guided by the seven priority pillars as contained in the Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6) and the Swapo Party manifesto. ‘Our NDP6 and the Swapo manifesto prioritise agriculture, sports, youth empowerment, quality education and training, creative industries, quality health and social welfare, land, housing and sanitation,’ the governor stated.



The meetings kicked off on Monday at Witvlei and Omitara, while on Tuesday, he met the Maharero Traditional Authority and /Gobanin Traditional Authority. On Wednesday, the governor is expected to be at Epukiro Post 3 and Skoonheid, whereas the Hoveka Traditional Authority and Ovambanderu Traditional Authority will be visited on Thursday at Okatumba Gate.



On Friday, Nganate is scheduled to visit the Tallis and Vergenoeg settlements, before he meets with the Leonardville and Batswana Ba Namibia Traditional Authority on 01 September 2025. The governor will conclude his trip on 02 September in the Aminuis Constituency, where he is expected to engage the Ovaherero, Bakgalagari, and Xoo Traditional Authorities.



Nganate called on community members to participate in the engagements.
