Gobabis: Following its poor run in the first leg of the Namport Omaheke Football Second Division league, Omaheke Megasave FC is poised to come back stronger in the second leg of the campaign this weekend. The Gobabis-based outfit will be traveling to Leonardville this weekend to face Kom Haal Hulle FC and Golden Boys on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, at the Leonardville Sports Complex.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Omaheke Megasave FC only managed to record two victories, two draws, and lost seven matches from 11 outings and currently sits at the 10th position in the log ahead of Otjinene SC with eight points. In an interview with Nampa on Thursday, Omaheke Megasave FC team manager Ben Martin said the team had difficulties in the first leg of the league campaign and is set to come back stronger in the second round.

"We are confident, we sharpened the team, ready to battle in Leonardville this weekend and going forward. Our players trained well, and the atmosphere in the camp is superb," he boasted. He added that the team's utility midfielder Kambato Kambato will be missing from the squad due to injury, and called on club supporters to come in numbers and give morale to the players in their fight against relegation.

"Our supporters and sympathizers must come in numbers as they are important stakeholders for this team. We always value your contribution to this club," he said.

Elsewhere in the division, Eastern Chiefs will lock horns against Epako Pirates on Saturday at 12h00 at Legare Sport Complex in Gobabis. This will be followed by an encounter between Kanaan United Omaheke Sport Club (SC) in the next match at 14h00. Log leaders Gobabis SC will play against the bottom of the table Otjinene SC at 16h00 in the last fixture on Saturday.

The matches will continue on Sunday, when the Desert Rollers will clash against Epako Pirates at 14h00, before reigning champions Omaheke SC will lock horns against log leaders Gobabis SC in a high-profile match at 16h00.
