Ongwediva: Residents of Ongwediva have been facing water interruptions for nearly two weeks.Town spokesperson Ottilie Shingenge told Nampa in an interview on Wednesday that the water flow challenges will occur for an unspecified period at this time, as they are yet to determine the exact cause of the interruptions.'Our technical team is working around the clock to ensure that normal and uninterrupted water supply and distribution are restored. Thus, water will be closed every day to fill up the towers that supply water to different areas in and around town respectively,' she said. She added that water will be opened occasionally every day once the towers are completely filled, hence the residents are advised to store water in containers.Shingenge explained that the towers do not get sufficient water and it depletes fast, making it hard to meet demand, while the pressure is slow when water is pumped from NamWater reservoirs. She stressed that the technical team is on the ground trying to find out what the cause is and will be able to pronounce themselves on the matter soon.Source: The Namibia Press Agency
