Opuwo:Approximately 300 young individuals gathered at Opuwo OK Foods on Monday to submit their job applications for the soon-to-open Opuwo OK Megasave. The new store is expected to provide employment for between 30 and 40 people.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Abel van Vuuren, the General Manager of Opuwo OK Foods and Opuwo OK Megasave, highlighted that the new store will help alleviate unemployment in the area. The establishment of the store from scratch presents a chance to recruit employees for a variety of roles.
The vacant positions advertised include cashiers, merchandisers, storemen, cleaners, butchery assistants, fast-food assistants, bakers, bakery assistants, fruit and vegetable assistants, floor managers, security officers, administrative clerks, and receiving clerks. The recruitment process aims to identify suitable candidates for these roles before the store officially opens.
One hopeful jobseeker, Aavehe Tjambiru, expressed his desire to secure employment and gain work experience by submitting his CV. He emphasized the importance of such opportunities for unemployed youth. Similarly, Kareemuzo Ruhozu conveyed his anticipation of finding work locally, allowing him to remain in Opuwo instead of seeking employment elsewhere.
The turnout of applicants underscored the high demand for job opportunities in Opuwo, reflecting the eagerness of local youth to fill the various positions available at the new store.
