Peng Liyuan Advocates Digital Empowerment for Women at Beijing Exhibition

Beijing: Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, alongside UN Under-Secretary-General and UN Women Executive Director Sima Bahous, visited an exhibition in Beijing dedicated to showcasing China's advancements in digital and intelligent empowerment for women and girls. This exhibition was inaugurated as a side event of the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the exhibition highlighted the rapid pace of new-generation information technologies, which Peng noted as a new engine propelling women and girls towards achieving their dreams. She emphasized China's commitment to developing these technologies, which are transforming the lifestyles of women and girls and opening up broader development opportunities in the digital intelligence era.

Peng, who serves as a UNESCO special envoy for the advancement of girls' and women's education, expressed her eagerness to collaborate with global partners to create a future rich with opportunities through digital intelligence, furthering the global progress of women.

Bahous praised China's significant achievements in narrowing the digital gender gap and advancing women's rights and interests. She urged the international community to unite in empowering women and girls for comprehensive development in the digital intelligence age.

The event saw Peng and other domestic and international guests exploring various exhibits, including a smart cloud classroom, demonstrations by Spring Bud Project girls with robot-operated Rubik's Cube solving, and displays of traditional culture. The gathering was attended by spouses of foreign leaders and heads of women's organizations.
