Windhoek: A 33-year-old woman, who is already facing drug-related charges, was arrested again at Rehoboth on Saturday after police allegedly recovered 15 units of suspected crack cocaine and N$5 100 in cash during an undercover operation. The incident occurred at Block F, Erf 332, around 11h00.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the operation, code-named 'Hit and Run', was conducted by members of the Hardap Regional Crime Investigation Division. The suspect was allegedly apprehended while attempting to flush the drugs down a toilet. Police recovered 15 units of suspected crack cocaine valued at approximately N$1 500, as well as N$5 100 in cash believed to be proceeds of crime.

She faces charges of dealing in dangerous dependence-producing substances, defeating the course of justice, and contravening the Prevention of Organised Crime Act. The woman was previously granted bail of N$9 000 by the Rehoboth Magistrate's Court on 12 May 2026 in connection with separate drug-related charges. The bail comprised N$5 000 for possession of illicit substances and N$4 000 for obstruction of justice. Her latest arrest comes less than four months after she was released on bail.

Head of the Hardap Regional Crime Investigation Division, Deputy Commissioner Theodore Kontungondo, confirmed the arrest. Police investigations continue.
