Oshakati: Special voting in the Oshana region went smoothly at the Oshakati West police station, on Monday, despite minor challenges experienced.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) presiding officer Helena Nghishihange informed that the voting process is going well, with voters arriving to cast their votes without significant issues. However, Nghishihange noted that some individuals were not appearing on the voter list, though efforts were underway to resolve this issue while awaiting feedback.
At the Evululuko secondary school in the Oshakati East constituency, presiding officer Emilia Eliander reported a good turnout of voters in the morning hours compared to the afternoon. "So far, we have recorded over 100 officials, and we have not experienced any challenge," Eliander stated.
Similarly, the presiding officer at Mweshipandeka secondary school in the Ongwediva constituency, Monica Kwedhi, mentioned that the voting process is proceeding without any challenges. Kwedhi reported that 17 voters had cast their votes so far, with more expected as the day progresses.
